Young Plaistow State Rep. loses his battle with cancer


PLAISTOW - First-term state Rep. Shem Kellogg has died after a "brief but hard-fought" battle with cancer.

Kellogg, who was only 34, died Tuesday, according to the Eagle Tribune. He was elected to the NH House of Representatives in 2014, two years after he moved to New Hampshire, where he served on the House Committee on Fish and Game and Marine Resources.

Kellogg was born in Northampton, Massachusetts and worked as an engineer for Stantec in Burlington, Massachusetts.

A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow.

After the service, there will a celebration of Kellogg's life at Plaistow Fish & Game Club.
