You wait until you win your party's nomination to run in the general election before focusing on fundraising

Sorry, the bulk of all the fundraising that is done to elect a president is done during the primary season -- not necessarily during the first-in-the-nation NH primary but during the larger national primary campaign.

In fact, you'll notice that potential 2016 candidates were meeting with a lot of big donors even before they announced plans to run.

You also need to raise money during the primaries to receive federal matching funds -- money that comes from a $1 check-off on all tax returns.

Go back and try again.

Go back to the beginning.
