World War II veterans taken from NH to see national monument in their honor

The Associated Press

MANCHESTER - Twenty-five World War II veterans are heading to Washington to visit the national monument to their sacrifices and the war they fought.

The veterans left Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Sunday morning aboard a flight sponsored by the Hooksett-based Honor Flight New England.

Honor Flight New England joined the national Honor Flight network in 2009. Since then it has sponsored three dozen flights and flown more than 1,000 veterans free of charge to see the national monuments.
