Wood stove replacement fund still available in Cheshire County

CONCORD (AP) — It may feel like summer, but the American Lung Association is urging residents of Cheshire County to think about turning on the heat.

The association still has $30,000 left in funding for its Cheshire County Wood Stove Changeout Program, which provides vouchers to people with high polluting, low-efficiency wood stoves so they can replace them with cleaner-burning EPA-certified wood, pellet or gas stoves.

The vouchers range from $300 to retrofit an existing wood stove to $4,000 to replace an outdoor wood boiler with a certified hydronic heater or gas furnace.
