MILFORD - A woman has been brought to the hospital after barricading herself inside a house Friday.
Local and State Police responded to 19 Merrimack Road for a woman who was threatening to harm herself.
"They had both sides of Merrimack Road blocked off," said Mark Taylor, of Milford. "Two police officers with assault rifles each side. Next thing I know a huge collection of state troopers here detectives and everything and I can't figure it out."
A State Police negotiator spoke to the woman by phone and persuaded her to come out of the home and surrender to police after about 1 1/2 hours.
"One of the officers from State Police, she did a really great job just talk to her several times," said Mike Viola, chief of police in Milford. "But that's what really happened with communication on all parts ... and she walked out."
There are no charges against the woman at this time and police have not released her identity.
