A New England woman pleaded guilty to diverting morphine from her employer for her own use, New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster announced.

Jennifer Oakley of East Corinth, Vt. admitted that while she was working as a registered nurse in New Hampshire, she committed the crime.

She was sentenced to 12 months in the House of Corrections, with all but four days suspended for five years on the condition of good behavior.

As part of the conditions of good behavior, Oakley is ordered to refrain from practicing medical care for five years, and complete a licensed drug and alcohol counseling program.

She will be on probation for one year, and is expected to perform 50 hours of community service.
