Woman jumps from I-95 bridge in Portsmouth, is in critical condition
PORTSMOUTH - Emergency workers pulled a woman who had jumped off the I-95 bridge from the Piscataqua River Thursday morning, The Union-Leader reported.
Police Sgt. Rich Webb said the city's fire department was called at 10:15 a.m., on a report of a person jumping from the northbound side of the bridge.
The woman was rescued downriver. Marine Patrol and the Coast Guard transported her to Prescott Park. She was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, the newspaper said.
