Woman indicted on negligent homicide in fatal crash

The Associated Press

NORTH HAVERHILL — A New Hampshire jury has indicted a Groton woman on negligent homicide charges in a fatal crash that killed a woman last summer.

The Laconia Citizen reports a Grafton County jury returned indictments last week charging 73-year-old Sharon Nelson in the Plymouth crash that killed 59-year-old Gail Wheeler, of Hill.

Police said Nelson crossed a double yellow line on Route 3A last July and collided head-on with a northbound car. Wheeler, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 72-year-old Fred Wheeler, of Hill, was hospitalized in Lebanon with serious injuries.

It wasn't immediately known if Nelson has an attorney. A message was left at a listed phone number.
