Wolfeboro man arrested after leaving toddler son in car while he shopped

WOLFEBORO — A Wolfeboro father is facing charges after leaving a child in an unattended vehicle at the Hunter's Shop 'n Save on South Main Street.

Two good Samaritans flagged down an officer Sunday around 7:45 p.m. to report a young child unsupervised in a car that was running. The father, Jonathan Lopez, 27, returned to the car after a few minutes and was promptly arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and unattended vehicle.

The toddler-aged child was turned over to the custody of a family member.

Lopez was released on $500 bail and has a court date scheduled for Sept. 6.
