Witness: Brawl leads to pipe beating in Nashua
NASHUA - Dozens of Nashua Police Department officers responded to the scene of an apparent brawl near the intersection of Anvil and Forge drives Tuesday, where at least two men were placed in custody, a third was transported away in an ambulance and a witness said a man was struck in the head with a pipe.
The Nashua Telegraph reported it was unclear what either man in custody was being charged with, but officers could be heard explaining to one he that he was in custody for fleeing the scene and refusing to stop for officers.
A resident at the scene told The Telegraph that what started as an argument escalated into a fistfight between multiple men, one of whom was struck in the head with a pipe.
Shortly after the injured man was transported to the hospital, seven armed Nashua officers with guns drawn entered and searched 58 Forge Drive. The Telegraph reported another potentially armed suspect had entered the residence and was refusing to exit.that
The officers left the residence without any suspects in custody, but police were still maintaining an active crime scene nearly four hours later.
