The Dip is a fundraising event that benefits Special Olympics New Hampshire. Participants (Dippers) raise funds to run into the ice-cold Lake Winnisesaukee at The Margate resort.
Laconia Fire, EMS, and Police attempted the icy waters Saturday afternoon raising a total of $84,431.
During the High School dip, 58 participants from 13 different High Schools raised $14,597.
"I'm here to have fun with my friends as apart of my senior project. To be able to put together a unified basketball at Belmont High School for Special Olympics is something I wanted to do for a long time," said Cassie Contigiani, who went into the lake on Sunday.
