Windshield shattered from flying ice on Rte. 111

HUDSON - A Hudson woman and her two young daughters were surely shaken this morning after ice reportedly flew off another vehicle and smashed their windshield.

Hudson Police say Lisa Beauchemin, 35, of Hudson, was driving on Rte. 111 near the Windham town line this morning around 10:50 a.m. when ice and snow from the top of a white van or SUV lifted off and came down on Beauchemin's Volvo SUV.

Beauchemin's windshield was smashed and she was showered with glass, police said.

Beauchemin and her two young daughters that were with her were not injured.

Police said the driver of the vehicle with the reported snow and ice on it did not pull over, and Beauchemin was unable to get a license plate number.

Hudson Police are sending out a reminder to drivers that they are responsible for clearing off their cars - and for any damage to other vehicles if they fail to do so.
