What to expect for security at Manchester Memorial Day Parade following several shootings

MANCHESTER- People who live in the neighborhoods where several recent shootings took place may still be on edge, but veterans who are marching in the Memorial Day Parade Monday say they don't think it will have any effect on how smoothly their event will go even though some happened close to the parade route.

"Those are isolated and they're meaningless when it comes to gatherings of this type for Memorial Day," said Sam Eames, Junior Commander of the American Legion Sweeney Post 2.

Manchester Police always have a visible presence at the event, veterans expect to see more of the same.

"Every street corner you walk by in the parade, they're always there," said Norman Gravel, Commander of the American Legion Sweeney Post 2.

No word from police or the Mayor's Office whether or not there will be any additional security measures taken.
