What's your (or your neighbor's) house worth? Portsmouth releases list of property values

PORTSMOUTH - Wonder what the city thinks your home is worth? Or your neighbor's?

The city has released a list of preliminary property assessments with properties searchable in three different formats: by the owners' names, by street names and parcel ID numbers.

The newly calculated property values will be used to calculate property tax bills to be issued in December.

Property owners who believe their property has not been properly assessed at market value can meet with the two assessing companies involved, depending on whether the property is residential or commercial.

Residential property owners who wish to schedule a meeting in person with a representative of KRT Appraisal can call 1-855-228-4033 weekdays from Aug. 20-28, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with meetings to be held at City Hall.

Commercial property owners who wish to schedule a meeting in person with Property Valuation Advisors can call 1-603-610-7249 weekdays from Aug. 20-28 between Monday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Again, meetings will be held at City Hall.

More detailed information is available on the Assessor's Office website.
