BOSTON - The Tsarnaev jury will go home until they are called back for the second phase of the trial which will determine whether or not Dzahokar Tsarnaev will be sentenced to death.
The first phase of the trial dealt with guilt, he was found guilty on all 30 counts. Since he is guilty of offenses that carry the death penalty, this next phase of the trial will move forward.
The defense, who did not cross-examine many witnesses and only called a few witnesses of their own, are expected to play a bigger role in this second phase.
They admitted Tsarnaev's guilt on the first day of the trial, their only goal now is to spare his life and hope for a sentence of life in prison.
The second phase of the trial will start next week.
