Driver 'lucky to walk away' from NH crash after swerving to avoid deer

MERIDAN — A driver miraculously walked away from the scene of a crash after swerving to avoid a deer Monday night.
The Meridan Volunteer Fire Department said around 10 p.m. they responded to a crash on the Croydon Turnpike.
Upon arrival, they found a heavily damaged vehicle had swerved off the road in an attempt to avoid hitting a deer.
First responders said the driver was extremely lucky to have not sustained any serious injuries in the crash.
Meridan fire used the crash as a reminder to drivers to obey posted speed limits and to watch out for wildlife on the roads, especially at night.
