ROCHESTER - The family of a local teenager is hoping a yard sale fundraiser held at their home will help pay for a prosthetic and a handicapped accessible ramp into their home, after the girl lost her leg to a rare cancer.

Alicia Wade, 18, is on medical leave and has missed most of her final year in high school. Her doctors found a tumor in her leg in 2007, by October of 2014 she was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer.

Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that develops from certain tissues, like bone or muscle.

Alicia had her leg amputated and is on the road to being cancer free.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday and Sunday at 11 Eastern Ave. in Rochester, N.H.
