Website gets NH's hopes up, reports Matt Damon is tired of L.A. and plans to move to Nashua

NASHUA - WCMP3 News is reporting that Hollywood actor Matt Damon plans to move to Nashua.

“I’m just tired of the L.A. lifestyle and the fake people, honestly, and I feel like, at this point in my life, I’d rather just live in a place full of real, genuine people. I’ve been to Nashua a few times over the years and the people there are real… they’re genuine, and yeah every community has its problems but the people there are good, decent people and they care about their community. Those are the things I find most important in deciding where to live,” Damon told WCMP3 News.

“I’m not retiring, I’m just looking for a change in life and I think I’ve found that in Nashua, New Hampshire,” Damon reassured fans.

In the comments section, at least one Nashua resident invited Damon to move in with him, while others provided advice on the best neighborhoods.

"Maybe he'll even financially support building an arts center!" reads one online comment.

The post drew more than 85 comments - but unfortunately few of them clicked to read the "about" section of the website.

However, one commenter noted that Damon had expressed a desire to move to Nashua once before.

Matt Damon’s character in the film “Good Will Hunting” tells his friend and therapist (Robin Williams) where he wanted to start a new life.

“I wanna move up to Nashua. Get a nice little spread. Get some sheep and tend to them,” Damon's character, Will Hunting, said.
