Weapons, including swords, seized from vehicle parked outside Gillette Stadium
FOXBORO, Mass. — Police say several weapons were seized from a car parked in an employee lot outside Gillette Stadium Friday before the Winter Classic.
According to Fox 25, officers were notified of a suspicious man in the off-site employee parking lot and the resulting investigation led police to search the car of a Connecticut man. Inside, police said they found several weapons, including a stun gun and swords.
Police arrested 48-year-old Matthew Bromson, of North Granby, Conn., and charged him with trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of an electric stun gun and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Bromson was previously arrested in 2014 after allegedly barricading himself in his house and threatening to shoot officers. Officers knew he owned several handguns and rifles. He eventually surrendered without incident.
Police said there was never a threat to Gillette Stadium, and it was an isolated incident.
