Waze predicts best and worst travel days around Thanksgiving

If you are one of the millions of Americans that is traveling for Thanksgiving you are probably asking yourself the same questions as millions of other people - When should we hit the road?

The social direction app, Waze, has predicted the best and worst times to travel for Thanksgiving 2015.

Two days before Thanksgiving is expected to be the worst, beginning around 1 p.m. Tuesday and reaching a travel peak between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.

A close second is Wednesday, when Waze predict's heavy traffic beginning around 11 a.m. and lasting all day and night.

According to Waze, what days are best to travel for Turkey Day? Thanksgiving Day is not expected to be super hectic on most roadways, specifically in the morning before noon.

So, if you're planning to hit the road on the holiday, you will hit less traffic than those driving before.

Waze asked nearly 3,000 U.S. residents about their Thanksgiving travel plans and researched the data.

Sixty-two percent of Americans will drive compared to 35 percent who will fly.
