Water main break closes Court Street in Concord, forces courts to close for day

CONCORD - A water main break closed Court Street outside of the Merrimack County courthouse on Thursday.

According to city officials, the leak was discovered in the 6-inch cast iron water main when water was seen flowing onto the road. The water main was shut off and the city's water crew is assessing the situation.

Water has been shut off to 17 customers, including the courthouse, until repairs can be made.

The leak has been located and workers were excavating the street to determine the cause and make necessary repairs.

City officials say they hope to have water service restored later in the day and will be providing updates via twitter @Concord NHGS.
