Watch live on NH1's Facebook page: Sanders returns to NH to campaign for Clinton

The Associated Press

LEBANON (AP) — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is returning to New Hampshire to campaign for his one-time rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton.

Sanders plans to gather with volunteers Monday afternoon in Lebanon, where he's expected to contrast the economic plans of Clinton and Trump. Sanders' call for a more fair economy helped propel his strong bid for the Democratic nomination.

New Hampshire played a pivotal role in the Democratic primary. Sanders defeated Clinton in the state's February primary and then appeared with Clinton in July in Portsmouth to endorse her in a show of party unity.

Sanders was also stopping by the AFL-CIO's annual Labor Day breakfast in Manchester.

Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan, who is running for U.S. Senate against Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte, was joining Sanders at both events.
