Congressional Democrats chanted "Where's the bill" Monday while demanding action from the GOP majority on gun control.
The outcry came after a moment of silence for those killed and injured in the Orlando mass shooting.
Democratic congressman James Clyburn rose to speak about the upcoming anniversary of the shooting in Charleston that left nine people dead.
He also tried to ask GOP leaders when gun control legislation would be considered.
Speaker Paul Ryan gaveled down Clyburn and other Democrats to vote on an unrelated pending matter.
Ryan declined to comment about the incident.
