SCENECTADY, N.Y. – Safyre Terry is overwhelmed with the amount of cards she has received, and there are many more on their way.
The eight-year-old girl who lost her family in a devastating fire more than two years ago had one wish for Christmas: to get cards from all over the world.
And the world listened.
In a post to Facebook Wednesday, Safyre thanked everyone for the cards and showed just how full her card-filled tree is already.
Her aunt and legal guardian, Liz Dolder, told NH1 News that her family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and support not only from around the country, but the world.
The cards are not the only sign of support from the public. Besides cards, donations have been coming in to a fundraising page set up by a friend, the money will help pay for Safyre’s medical expenses.
