BOSCAWEN- Town officials in Boscawen voted this week to try to make a popular swimming area safer. The move comes after a father and son drowned there last month.
The town voted to put up signs, not to keep people from swimming, but to warn them of the potential dangers.
Unfortunately the area is no stranger to drownings, there are three memorials set up right before you head down to the beach.
The currents in the Merrimack River get much stronger after heavy rain and can catch swimmers by surprise.
