Warner man indicted on allegations of sexually assaulting boy over 2 decades ago
CONCORD — A Warner man accused of sexually assaulting a child at gunpoint over two decades ago was recently indicted in the Merrimack County Superior Court.
Ricky Flanders, 49, was indicted on nine counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. He threatened to use physical violence to force a boy to comply, according to four of those counts, reports the Concord Monitor.
Prosecutors allege multiple assaults took place between Aug. 19, 1988, and Aug. 18, 1993. An affidavit states that the boy was under the age of 13 at the time.
The affidavit reports that Flanders held a revolver to the boy's head, and ordered him to perform oral sex. It also states that Flanders told the boy to undress and lie on the bed, where he raped him.
Warner police started investigating Flanders this past summer after the alleged victim, now an adult, came forward.
Flanders is scheduled to be arraigned on the nine felony charges Nov. 10.
