Volunteers to place wreaths on veterans' graves

The Associated Press

BOSCAWEN — Volunteers will be placing about 1,500 wreaths on graves at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen this weekend.

The Blue Star Mothers of New Hampshire organized Saturday's event, which was inspired by wreaths placed at Arlington National Cemetery.

Members of the New Hampshire Wing of the Civil Air Patrol will lead a ceremony at noon. U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who plans to participate in placing the wreaths, also will give remarks.

Members of the Veterans Club at New Hampshire Technical Institute also will be on hand with hot cocoa, and the Soldiers Helpers organization will provide lunch.
