Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe visits NH to support Clinton

PORTSMOUTH - The governor of Virginia was in New Hampshire on Sunday to show support for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, greeted supporters at an open house party at the home of State Rep. Becky McBeath.

McAuliffe told about 30 attendees that he has been a longtime friend and supporter of the Clintons.

The governor took about 45 minutes to shake hands and talk about the Clinton campaign goals here in the Granite State.
He talked to nh1 about why he thinks she’ll succeed in the polls here.

"Here in New Hampshire you’re just independent, strong-willed folks," McAuliffe told NH1 News. "They love it that Hillary is smart, tough, independent, strong-willed and fun-loving. So, there’s a lot of similar characteristics.”

Clinton is scheduled to be back in New Hampshire this upcoming week.
