Vermont man arrested in NH for conspiracy to commit human trafficking
LEBANON — A Vermont man who expected to meet an adult and a child for a sexual encounter was met by police, who arrested him instead.
Lebanon police said they have been targeting individuals using social media who may be looking to victimize children. As part of their efforts, police began corresponding with Erik Polson, 72 of Chelsea, Vermont.
On Thursday, police said Polson traveled to Lebanon to meet with who he thought was an adult and a child for sexual contact.
Instead, he was approached by Lebanon police officers, who arrested him at the scene. He was charged with conspiracy to commit trafficking in persons, a Class A felony, and conspiracy to commit certain use of computer services prohibited, a Class B felony.
Polson was held on $20,000 cash bail and was transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections.
