Vailas named CAA Offensive Player of the Week

Vailas.jpgUNH logo.jpgUniversity of New Hampshire quarterback Andy Vailas (pictured) was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his performance in Saturday night's 52-19 victory over Dartmouth.

Vailas, who made his first start of the season, rushed for a career-high 112 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. He also completed 17 of 26 passes for 219 yards and two TDs.

Vailas, a Bedford resident who played at Bishop Guertin High School, replaced Sean Goldrich as UNH's starting QB. Goldrich suffered a sprained knee during a victory over Richmond earlier this month.
