US service members getting specials treats from NH trick-or-treaters

NH1.com

Kids will be giving their candy to some deserving adults this Halloween.

Local and nationwide trick-or-treaters can bring their candy and handwritten thank you letters to Southern N.H. Immediate Care locations.

The letters and goodies will then be shipped to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in care packages to U.S. Service Members who are deployed overseas or serving in the U.S.

Americans spend an estimated $2.5 billion dollars on a whopping 600 million pounds of Halloween Candy each year. In 2015 alone, 294 tons of that candy was sent to Operation Gratitude for distribution through its Care Package Programs.

Candy donations can be dropped off at any Immediate Care of Southern New Hampshire location, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Nov. 1 to 9.
