US News & World Report ranks Dartmouth College 11th-best, UNH at 107

HANOVER — Dartmouth College was ranked as the 11th best college in the nation according to a study done by U.S. News & World Report.

University of New Hampshire also made the list, ranking at 107.

U.S. News & World Report ranked each college through five weight categories. These categories included:

  • Student performance data - retention, graduation rate, etc.
  • Expert opinion - from presidents, provosts, high school counselors and admissions deans
  • Faculty resources - including class size, student-to-faculty ratio and more; student excellence - includes incoming students' test scores and more
  • Financial resources - how much money does the school spend on instruction, research, student services
  • Alumni giving - how many graduates give back
