UPDATED: Light snow, wintry mix moves through NH on Thanksgiving
The weather pattern has changed in a big way. After being in the 60s on Saturday, wintry weather continues to be in our forecast. A light wintry mix of precipitation will move through the state on Thanksgiving.
Light precipitation will move into southern and western New Hampshire during the morning hours, moving north and east by midday and early afternoon. There will be just enough cold air for this precipitation to fall in the form of light snow or light freezing rain. This precipitation will not be very heavy – the key word is light – but, any untreated roads could become icy for a time, especially in southern and western New Hampshire.
This should not be enough to cancel any plans at all. However, sometimes these situations can catch drivers off-guard. Hopefully, the roads will be treated ahead of time as a precaution and any issues will be very minimal.
Scattered snow or mixed showers will continue into Thursday night. Some patchy areas of freezing drizzle or light freezing rain could develop Thursday night into Friday morning. If you are planning on heading out to take advantage of Black Friday deals, be aware that again, untreated roads could be icy.
