PELHAM - Not long after a pig was caught wandering a polling location in Pelham on Primary Day, a Twitter account was created on the animal's behalf - "The Pelham Pig."

The account has been tweeting politics-related pig jokes and puns to it's 15 followers.

"Any stories attributing a particular political preference to me are pure hogwash," read one of the Tweets.

"I apologize for trying to hog the spotlight, it's just how I roll," said another with the hashtag '#PelhamPig.'

The account, even takes aim at candidates:

Police were called to Marsh Road after the pig was spotted at the high school among voters.

The pig was videotaped outside the high school and temporarily hogged the social media spotlight when the video went viral.

Pelham officers were able to determine that the pig came from a local farm and contacted the owner of the pig. The owner subsequently came to the high school and retrieved the pig.

In response to several media inquiries, police issued a "brief synopsis regarding a large pig located at the Pelham High School during primary voting."

There's no word on who created the Twitter account.
