UPDATE: Woman charged with Franklin arson lived in the apartment building

FRANKLIN - A resident of an apartment house where a "suspicious" fire broke out has been arrested in connection with the blaze Wednesday.

Amber Cowan, 28, of Franklin, is being held at the Merrimack County jail in lieu of $250,000 cash-only bail, police said. She was scheduled to be arraigned by video on Thursday morning.

Officials say their investigation into the fire at the School Street address continues. Any individual with photos or videos of the fire is requested to contact the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Investigator Sean Plumer at 223-4289 or to the Franklin Police Department at 934-2535.

No one was injured in the fire, but officials said the building is a total loss.
