UPDATE: Weare residents still on the lookout for 4 cows wandering around town
WEARE — The search continues in Weare Wednesday night, after four cows have been missing for days now.
Four red Angus cows went missing from a residence on Cram Road and are said to be wandering around town. Animal control officers said they've gotten close to capturing them at least once, but haven't been able to quite yet.
Residents of Weare say there’s horse crossings, and that chickens roam free, and now police are telling people to be on the lookout for the cows.
"Ya i kind of laughed because i think it only happens around here," Weare resident Kyler Gingras said. "I think it's pretty cool."
Three of the cows were last seen and surrounded on Poor Farm Road, but took off before animal control could get a trailer to move them. The fourth cow was last seen on Peacock Hill Road.
Police are warning residents that these cows are on the loose and to be extra careful while out on the roadways in the areas where they’ve been spotted. Neighbors said this isn’t the first time this has happened.
"We were out over there by the car and he was like 'there’s cows in your backyard!'" Danielle Gingras - Kyler Gingras's mother said.
This comes after last summer when the Gingras family was able to snap a few pictures of the animal in their yard.
"Just giant, they were all black, just standing at the end, we had raspberry bushes and they were eating the bushes," Danielle said.
Until the cows are found and returned to their owners, police are urging anyone with information to contact Weare Animal Control at (603) 493-7834 with any information or sightings.
