UPDATE: Suspect in Manchester shooting identified
MANCHESTER — Chief Willard announced that the suspect involved in the shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning as Ian MacPherson, 32 of Manchester.
MacPherson was charged with two counts of attempted capital murder.
Chief Willard also identified the officers involved as Ryan Hardy and Matthew O'Connor.
Officer Hardy saw a man that fit the description of the Shell Station robbery from the night of May 12. The description being a white man with long brown hair wearing a trench coat.
Officer Hardy called in that he thought that he found the suspect before saying that he had been shot. Hardy suffered gunshot wounds to his face and torso and is in stable condition at a Boston hospital.
Officer O'Connor arrived on the scene about 30 minutes later and requested that the MacPherson place his hands up, instead shots were fired at Officer O'Connor.
O'Connor was shot in the leg and treated at a hospital. He has been since released.
