UPDATE: Snow causes roof collapse at vacant Portsmouth restaurant


PORTSMOUTH- Firefighters say snow on the roof is to blame for a roof collapse at a vacant restaurant.

The structure was attached to Gary's Beverages who was forced evactuate and shut down through Wednesday afternoon.

The city cleared Gary's of any safety issues and allowed them to re-open. The city is also in the process of acquiring the property to build a much-needed parking garage. They say the plans are in the early stages.
