ROCHESTER – New details have emerged about the mother of a 17-year-old girl who was found dead in a Rochester motel Saturday.
Jazzmyn Rood, Eve Tarmey’s mother, had an ad on the classifieds site “Backpage,” known as a popular host for escort ads.
NH1 News called the number listed on the site and a woman, who identified herself as Jazzmyn, answered and quickly hung up.
On Wednesday, the owner of the Riveria Motel said Eve and her mother, Jazzmyn, did not live in the motel, but Jazzmyn’s boyfriend had been living there off and on for two years.
Rochester police confirmed the 911 call came from Jazzmyn’s boyfriend just before 5 a.m. Saturday.
Eve Tarmey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rochester Police say they have received a number of calls in the past to the Riveria Motel for drug and prostitution related issues. But police would not comment on whether any of the calls involved Eve, her mother, or her mother's boyfriend.
NH1 News also called DCYF to see if there have been any previous reports of child neglect involving Eve. They declined to comment.
An autopsy has been conducted. Police are not releasing the cause of death until they get the results of toxicology tests.
So far no one has been charged in eve's death.
All police will say is the investigation is still underway.
