UPDATE: Police searching for 2 suspects in afternoon armed robbery in Manchester

MANCHESTER — Police are searching for the suspects in an armed robbery at 148 Flaherty Lane at about 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, told the police that two men entered his apartment wearing black bandannas over their faces, each armed with a hand gun, and they assaulted him.

The victim attempted to defend himself with a baseball bat while the assailants fired shots. He then dropped the bat and fled.

The assailants caught him and beat him with the bat. The victim suffered injuries to his hand and face.

He was transferred to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Police searched the apartment complex but did not find the men responsible for the incident.

The first suspect is described as about 5'6"- 5'8" at 160 pounds. He is described with blonde hair, and light colored eyes, and unknown clothing.

The second suspect is thought to be about 6'0", 220 pounds with jet black hair. He was wearing sunglasses, a white shirt, and black pants at the time of the incident.

Investigators do not believe this was a random attack and are following up on several leads. Detectives did locate evidence at the scene confirming several gunshots were fired inside of the apartment.
