UPDATE: Police search for suspect in Laconia kidnapping Sunday night


LACONIA — Laconia police are seeking help from the public in finding a suspect accused of kidnapping a woman on Sunday at about 11:30 p.m.

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of James Lemmond, 31. He is described to be 5'9" in height, about 160 pounds, and has blue eyes and blonde hair.

Police say they responded to Cottage Street shortly before midnight Sunday night for a report of a female being dragged by her hair into a vehicle screaming. The vehicle was described as a black GMC Terrain and the vehicle left at a high rate of speed from the area.

Lemmond is wanted for kidnapping and armed robbery.

Police say he is expected to be in the Laconia or Concord area and have warned that he is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone locates Lemmond they are advised not to approach him but rather to immediately call the Laconia Police Department.
