UPDATE: Police investigating, but no arrests made in weekend Manchester shooting


MANCHESTER - Police are investigating a weekend shooting that injured two people, including a 16-year-old boy.

Police responded to several 911 calls for reports of shots fired in the area of Union and Auburn Streets just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

A 16-year-old that had taken a break from playing basketball and had gotten a drink at the Dollar Deluxe when the shots rang out. The boy ran back to the basketball court and then realized he'd been struck, he told police.

His injuries were non life threatening but as of Monday afternoon, according to friends he was still recovering in the hospital.

A woman also reported being struck by a bullet about a half mile from the initial report. She was hit on the foot and refused to be treated, police said.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be random and it is actively under investigation. No arrests have been made.
