UPDATE: Pilot injured, fire put out in NH helicopter crash

ANDOVER — The pilot of the helicopter that crashed in the woods off of 15 River's Edge Road has been transported to Concord Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A Canadian Home Rotors Safari helicopter crashed as it was taking off from a private residence in Andover at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The pilot was able to call 911 himself after the crash.

The aircraft was on fire, and soon extinguished by fire personnel.

The pilot was the only person in the helicopter at the time of the crash.

The helicopter went down in a mostly secluded area, according to police.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
