UPDATE: Outpouring of support for Hampstead official banned from school property

NH1.com

HAMPSTEAD - One day after being served a "no trespass" order from Hampstead police, banning him from all school property, Budget Committee Chairman Jorge Mesa-Tejada is seeing an outpouring of support.

There was outrage among some parents and school officials after Mesa-Tejada described how he would carry out a hypothetical mass shooting at the elementary school while discussing school security.

Since our story aired, NH1 News has been flooded with emails and Facebook posts supporting Mesa-Tejada, calling this an "unfair attack" against his character. Some say his words were twisted and feel he was trying to make a point about what is unsafe about the school.

Since he is an elected official, it will be up to the town to decide if he will stay on the job.

Mesa-Tejada declined to comment on this story.
