ORFORD — An Orford firefighter died of natural complications due to heart disease while combating a brush fire in Lyme on Sunday, reports from an autopsy revealed.
Charles Waterbury, 56, was an active member of the Orford Fire Department for about 10 years. He was taken to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Sunday where he was pronounced dead.
Gov. Maggie Hassan issued flags at half-mast until Wednesday.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. in Orford.
