Update: Number of residents without power continues to decline in NH

The number of New Hampshire residents without electricity has declined to fewer than 100,000.

Public Service of New Hampshire is reporting slightly more than 86,000 customers, or 17 percent, are without power as of 4 p.m. Friday.

Unitil had about 4,700 customers without power at that time.

PSNH held a press conference Friday afternoon to go over the efforts to restore power. It has more than five times the normal amount of crews working on restoration. The company expects to have power restored to almost everyone by Monday.

Unitil expects to have most of its customers back on line by the end of the day Friday.
