UPDATE: NH man who lead police on high-speed chase before car flips over is in jail

PELHAM — A Hudson man led an officer on a high speed chase before flipping over his car and is now in jail awaiting trial.

Justin Soeum, 22 of Hudson, was charged with aggravated DUI attempting to elude police, aggravated DUI 30 mph over the limit, disobeying an officer, reckless operation, driving after revocation or suspension, a traffic control device violation, yellow/solid line violation, and driving while intoxicated.

Soeum was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail to be held until his trial. His trial will be held Oct. 28.

On Wednesday an officer was parked on Route 38 monitoring traffic on Wednesday at about 3:39 a.m. when a white sedan traveling north drove by him at a high rate of speed partially in the breakdown lane, police said.

The officer pulled out and attempted to catch up with the white sedan as it swerved in and out of the travel lane. The white sedan then approached the intersection of Main Street, and Route 38 and without any attempt at stopping, went through a red light and turned onto Main Street, police said.

The emergency lights and sirens were then put on by the officer. As the officer caught up to the sedan, the car started to increase it's speed attempting to elude the officer, police said.

The car traveled on Nashua Road then onto Mammoth Road towards the town of Windham, all while going over 80 miles per hour and crossing over the yellow line on several occasions, police said.

As the car approached Windham, the officer notified dispatch that he was reducing his speed as the speed of the white sedan was extremely dangerous, but would keep driving in the direction of the sedan.

As the officer approached the intersection of Mammoth and Castle Hill roads, he noticed that the white sedan had crashed and ended up on it's roof. The officer then conducted a felony stop with the assistance of another Pelham Officer.

The operator and sole occupant was identified as Justin Soeum, 22. He was taken into custody and was subsequently transported to Parkland Hospital in Derry with minor injuries.
