UPDATE: Manchester police still searching for 2 suspects in city's latest shooting

MANCHESTER - Manchester police are still searching for a suspect after multiple reports of shots fired had schools on high alert Thursday.

The investigation remains active as police strung up crime tape on Manchester Street. At least one vehicle was struck and the person who fired the shots is still on the loose.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots some time before 11:30 a.m. in the central part of the city near 263 Manchester Street. Nearby Central High School was placed into secure campus-mode for about an hour and a half as a result. Similar precautions were taken at an adult learning center on Maple Street.

Several neighbors described hearing a pop, and a short time later police were seen photographing a bullet hole in a car parked on Manchester Street. The owner of that car is a grandmother who says she's lucky she and her grandson were inside when the shots were fired.

Police are still looking for both suspects. The first is described as a black man about 5-feet-8 inches tall wearing tan or khaki shorts with a white top. The second did not have much of a specific physical description, but police say he has a "bigger build" and was "wearing all black."
