Man says it was his brother who died in Somersworth fire

SOMERSWORTH - The man who died in a fire Friday night has been identified as 54-year-old Janis Millers by a man who says he's his brother.

Raymond Millers and his wife Denise spoke to NH1's Tyler Dumont a day after firefighters pulled a man from the second floor of 86 South Street

Firefighters say they arrived on the scene and learned a man was trapped on the second floor. They pulled him out and called an ambulance, but efforts to revive him were not successful.

Ten people lived in the building and the other nine did make it out safely. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials have not identified the victim.

Firefighters say the call came in just before 6 p.m. and quickly progressed to a three-alarm fire, requiring mutual aid from crews as far as Maine. The building was heavily damaged.
