UPDATE: Man killed in I-93 car crash was a UNH student

CANTERBURY - The man killed in a crash on I-93 in Canterbury on Saturday, May 28, has been identified as University of New Hampshire rising junior Gordon Borek.

Borek, 22, was a history major and a forward on the UNH club hockey team. He was killed when his car veered off the highway and struck a tree. Borek was pronounced dead on the scene.

"It was impossible not to be in a good mood when he was around," said Robert Keogh, a former teammate. "He brightened up every place he went to. Great kid, great teammate and great friend."

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
